Nice notes from
campers, leaders, donors, volunteers, etc...
From a Past
employee:
“Before I
came to work here I had a desire in my heart, I knew I needed a job but there
was also a longing within me for two things: to do something I loved, and change
the same atmosphere I had always run into. I was so exhausted with the world and
its chill. God gave me more than I asked for. Working here has been wonderful.
It convicted me in ways I didn’t know I needed. I saw for the first time that
although I knew how I felt for God, and knew where I stood in my heart with God,
I wasn’t communicating it. You helped me see this in myself. So often you would
talk of the blessings God has given in your live. You inspired me to turn my
faith from a whisper to a shout. I’ll never forget that day when we saw the huge
rainbow and the daffodils growing up from the wall of your building. Seeing
those flowers come up like that just struck me—God really looks down on this
place and smiles.”
From a Former Trout Lake Resident:
My husband and I were browsing the internet and came across your website. I am
so pleased to see that all the dreams God had given you so many years back are
coming to fruition! Please know that I am so proud of you all for the faith you
have allowed the Lord to build in your lives. You are an inspiration and an
encouragement to me. I will always remember, especially when doubts rise up in
the faith building process of my own life, your courage to step out and do what
many said couldn’t be done simply because the Lord gave you a vision and you had
the courage to make that vision your own.”
From a Summer Camp Director:
“Thank you for giving me so much grace over the years to learn and grow, and for
believing in me. You have been a key part in shaping who I am. Thank you for
loving those around you and pushing us to love God and be in the Word.”
From a Summer Jr. Staffer:
“Thank you so much for feeding me, looking out for me, accepting me, loving me,
housing me, scolding me, driving me to the dump, letting me counsel and letting
me have one of the best summers in the world. Jonah really is a miracle…and I
absolutely love it!”
From the Mom of a Summer Camper:
“I just wanted to say think you to you and all the staff for giving my son a
great experience again this year. He came home in such good spirits. He said he
wanted to go back next year and the next year and so on. Also to go on to be a
counselor. It was so awesome to see the excitement in him and also to hear that
he “officially” accepted Christ. May God continue to bless Jonah Ministries and
all who contribute to His work.”
From a Missionary after Sudanese Camp 2005:
“Thank you to the whole extended Jonah family, for your ministry that makes this
camp possible! We appreciate your eagerness to make it happen. Thanks for your
helpful advice, for the facilities, for your time at the Zip Line, for driving
the bus, for loving people, for encouraging staff to be a part and training them
well, and on and on!
From a Summer Jr. Staffer and Camper:
“I just wanted to let you know that I don’t think there is anywhere I would
rather spend my time than at Jonah during the summer helping out or going to
camp! And also I don’t think there is anywhere that I grow closer to God and
learn more about him than at Jonah.
From a Summer Volunteer:
“One of your young campers gave her life to the Lord this summer. After camp,
she said to her Grandpa, who is an elder at my church, ‘Guess What? I became a
Christian at camp!’”
From a French Exchange Student:
“Thank you for letting me come to Jonah. I learned how to open my life to people
and open my heart to God.”
From a Corban College Camp Team:
“Thank you so much for your kind hospitality during our two weeks of camp with
you. We thoroughly enjoyed serving our Lord alongside you. We had such a blast
at both Music and Adventure Camp and learned and grew immensely…Your hearts to
serve, and love for the kids we ministered to was a blessing to us.”
From the Mom of a Past Camper:
“It was great to see you last Friday at the end of camp. When my daughter said
she wanted to stop at Jonah I was thrilled. She has wandered off God’s path. I
have really been praying for her during this time that she would remember who
she is in Christ. I love stopping at Jonah. You can feel God’s power all
around.”
