Nice Notes

Nice Notes From Campers, Leaders, Donors, Volunteers, etc...

From Daisy
I can't tell you how homesick I feel every time I read your news letters! I can feel it deep inside. Oh how I love that Jonah place! So many things remind me of being there - sunsets, flowers, mosquitoes, kids, cooking all my food outside on a fire (coal), etc. I am so thankful for the training I had at Jonah - I know I tell you this all the time - but I am convinced that the Lord was really using that time to train me for what he had for my future. Thank you, Daisy
From Oscar
Praise the Lord!!!! It is great to see what God is doing through Jonah... May I encourage you to remain "steadfast"---I Cor. 15:58... In His Grip, Oscar
From Ehud
I CAN'T WAIT for camp to start!!! I get more and more pumped everyday, and especially today because I turned in my application for summer ministry, and Drake and I talked about the summer for quite a while so I am officially STOKED!!! Thanks so much for all your hard work and continually turning to God for direction. I will be praying, Ehud
From Anita
I always get warm fuzzies when I think of you. Just like the song says, "May your dreams stay big and your worries stay small." I continue to pray for your outreach and in my prayers I am a bit selfish (my selfishness is for all the people God brings). I pray that you stay small and effective. Everything in life and society is big and fast and overdone, complicated, but at Jonah you can escape that. It is small, simple and significant. I believe you are doing what God wants. It is a definite ministry. Thank you for all your hard work. Love, Anita
From S.
Gosh, i have to tell you. Jonah has meant so much to me. I've spent 3 hard summers at jonah where A LOT of growing up happened. Jonah has been a safe haven for me. And i want to thank you for all the hours and summers that You and Jeff and Jonah and Micah and Sherri and Grandma have invested in me. Moments i've had at jonah have been priceless. From laughing till i cry to crying my eyes out. its all been awesome. Thank you SO much for your ministry to the staff. Without you guys the staff couldnt minister to the campers. When i grow up, I want to have a servants heart like you guys.

Love you!

From a Summer Staffer
My heart is about to explode God is so good. I wish i could die right now and go to heaven just to thank him and worship him.
From a Mom
I thank God for you and how HE continuously blesses you! You must be shouting from the roof tops! God is so good, so amazing and awesome!!! You are often in my thoughts and prayers (Grandma too, along with your kids and grandkids). Thank you for giving my kids the opportunity to serve at Jonah and walking along side them as they grow and see God work in tremendous ways in not only their lives but the lives of others around them. What could be a more important lesson for our children than to learn to serve, trust,& obey God and watch Him do his mighty work?! Last night before D went to bed, he told me he was setting his alarm at 6:00 so he could get up early and spend some time in the word each day and get ready for his work at Jonah this summer! Wow! He has not even begun yet but his heart is so willing and tender to wanting the things of God. Thank you for inspiring him, thank you for spurring him on to not only working in the Lord but making the commitment to seek Him out daily in preparation for what ever God has in store for Him - this summer and beyond!!! This morning he was up and out of bed before I was, showered and with hot chocolate and bible in hand headed down stairs to a quiet place to start the day with the Lord of heaven and earth! I too, am shouting from the roof tops!!! "God thank you for children that desire to follow You and please You!!" As much as my home will feel so empty this summer with 5 of my 6 children gone... I wouldn't want S, T or D to spend their time in any other way than serving God and growing at Jonah. Man! I'm glad we met!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you! You are an inspiration and a blessing!!!!!
From the Mom of a Past Camper
It was great to see you last Friday at the end of camp. When my daughter said she wanted to stop at Jonah I was thrilled. She has wandered off God's path. I have really been praying for her during this time that she would remember who she is in Christ. I love stopping at Jonah. You can feel God's power all around.
From a Corban College Camp Team
Thank you so much for your kind hospitality during our two weeks of camp with you. We thoroughly enjoyed serving our Lord alongside you. We had such a blast at both Music and Adventure Camp and learned and grew immensely... Your hearts to serve, and love for the kids we ministered to was a blessing to us.
From a French Exchange Student
Thank you for letting me come to Jonah. I learned how to open my life to people and open my heart to God.
From a Summer Volunteer
One of your young campers gave her life to the Lord this summer. After camp, she said to her Grandpa, who is an elder at my church, 'Guess What? I became a Christian at camp!'
From a Summer Jr. Staffer and Camper
I just wanted to let you know that I don't think there is anywhere I would rather spend my time than at Jonah during the summer helping out or going to camp! And also I don’t think there is anywhere that I grow closer to God and learn more about him than at Jonah.
From a Missionary after Sudanese Camp 2005
Thank you to the whole extended Jonah family, for your ministry that makes this camp possible! We appreciate your eagerness to make it happen. Thanks for your helpful advice, for the facilities, for your time at the Zip Line, for driving the bus, for loving people, for encouraging staff to be a part and training them well, and on and on!
From the Mom of a Summer Camper
I just wanted to say think you to you and all the staff for giving my son a great experience again this year. He came home in such good spirits. He said he wanted to go back next year and the next year and so on. Also to go on to be a counselor. It was so awesome to see the excitement in him and also to hear that he 'officially' accepted Christ. May God continue to bless Jonah Ministries and all who contribute to His work.
From a Summer Jr. Staffer
Thank you so much for feeding me, looking out for me, accepting me, loving me, housing me, scolding me, driving me to the dump, letting me counsel and letting me have one of the best summers in the world. Jonah really is a miracle... and I absolutely love it!
From a Summer Camp Director
Thank you for giving me so much grace over the years to learn and grow, and for believing in me. You have been a key part in shaping who I am. Thank you for loving those around you and pushing us to love God and be in the Word.
From a Former Trout Lake Resident
My husband and I were browsing the internet and came across your website. I am so pleased to see that all the dreams God had given you so many years back are coming to fruition! Please know that I am so proud of you all for the faith you have allowed the Lord to build in your lives. You are an inspiration and an encouragement to me. I will always remember, especially when doubts rise up in the faith building process of my own life, your courage to step out and do what many said couldn't be done simply because the Lord gave you a vision and you had the courage to make that vision your own.
From a Past Employee
Before I came to work here I had a desire in my heart, I knew I needed a job but there was also a longing within me for two things: to do something I loved, and change the same atmosphere I had always run into. I was so exhausted with the world and its chill. God gave me more than I asked for. Working here has been wonderful. It convicted me in ways I didn't know I needed. I saw for the first time that although I knew how I felt for God, and knew where I stood in my heart with God, I wasn't communicating it. You helped me see this in myself. So often you would talk of the blessings God has given in your live. You inspired me to turn my faith from a whisper to a shout. I'll never forget that day when we saw the huge rainbow and the daffodils growing up from the wall of your building. Seeing those flowers come up like that just struck me - God really looks down on this place and smiles.
