SUMMER CAMP |
|
Bulging Camps
For a few months now we as a staff have been praying for "bulging camps" this summer. We know the gas price is high, but we also know how important it is for kids to attend a Christian Camp. Here are a few things you might want to know:
~ There's still
time to sign up for camp
~ You can come up with your own payment plan
~ We promise a top-notch, fun, amazing, age-appropriate
camp experience each week
~ We have a fantastic Staff and excellent Camp
Directors
If you have any questions, we'd love
to chat with you by email or by phone. Hurry! Camp starts in just
three weeks!
3 Ways to Pay
We know camp is expensive (Boy, do we ever know!),
so we've come up with three ways you can pay:
1. ONLINE: Pay in full by going to:
www.campjonah.com
2. BY MAIL: Print out a Registration form from our website
or call to request one and send it back with your $50 deposit. Pay
the balance two weeks before your camp begins
3. PAYMENT PLAN: Create your own payment plan and send it
along with your registration form and $50 deposit.
Please call us if you have any questions. As you can tell, we want
to make this as easy and painless as possible!

70 POUNDS OF LICORICE! |
|
|
You are simply
wonderful! In our last E-Prayer & News, we listed a number of
items needed for our staff this summer and Red Vines were
on the list. We can now treat our staff to their favorite snack
just as often as we feel like this summer. Thank you! We also
received 30 laundry baskets, 7 rolls of duct
tape, 2 bags of penny candy and 30 "Walk on
Water" books.
Thank you so much for your
generosity!
Here's our new list:
Penny Candy
Packaging Tape
3 Brooms with attached Dustpans
1 Portable CD Player
1 DVD/VCR Player
AA Batteries and Storage Tubs-clear
(all sizes, lids must latch - we love the Wal-Mart Sterilite
brand)

"When the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he
saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because
of his mercy." Titus 3:4
When I read this verse this morning, it made me realize once again
that I did nothing to deserve God's favor. He saved me not
because I'm a good little girl, but because of his great
mercy. It was good for me to reflect on this. In the back
of my mind I bet I think I have somehow earned salvation because I
work so hard in this ministry and I try to live a godly life
(whatever that is). But, no! Only because of God's grace do I have
the hope of heaven.
That is why we do camp! We want to share the love of God with as
many kids as we can! We have a slogan here:
Where kids laugh, hearts change and God smiles!
It's the best experience ever to hear campers laughing and
learning, and to know God is smiling!

PRAISES:
1. Thank you, Boldt Family, for
coming together as a clan to purchase and donate the fourth in our
"fleet" of white, 1997 Ford vehicles! We just picked up
the Aerostar on Saturday. It only has 64,000 miles and feels
brand-new. This will replace our old (and decrepit) Aerostar and
should last Jonah many more years. It feels like
Christmas!
2. Thank you, Becky,
for the donation of the 30 "Walk on Water"
books for our staff. We really wanted to be able
to give each staff member this book, but just couldn't quite afford
it. You're an angel!
3. Milo, it was great to visit with you
at the wedding on Sunday. It's so great that God allows us
to meet so many staff over the past twelve years; it's
even better when we get to continue those
relationships!
4. The "Trifecta" is
such a blessing. That's the name our three Head Staff members have
given themselves. They are wonderful at planning, dreaming,
exploring and seeking the Lord in preparation for leading our
summer staff and taking lead roles in planning camps. Thank you,
Lord, for sending them to us!
REQUESTS:
1. The few weeks just
prior to the start of camp are always a bit tough
financially-retreats slow down and camps have yet
to start. Join with us in laying out our needs before the Lord, and
trusting that He will continue to provide. (He's got a pretty good
track record!)
2. Pray for
readiness for camps. We feel that we've used our
time wisely, but there's still so much more to do. We want to know
and follow God's leading for the best camps yet.
3. Pray for our staff: Lead
Staff arrive Thursday morning and Support Staff arrive on
Sunday afternoon. Pray for unity, growth, health, insight,
wisdom, etc.
4. Pray for us to be able to reach
kids when they're young and to solidify their walk with God
as they grow older. Camp is such a great place to minister
to kids of all ages.
5. Pray for an infusion of the
Holy Spirit for each person on our campus this
summer.
6. Pray for the Board
Meeting we're trying to squeeze in on Monday. We plan to
meet together with all of our board, staff, camp directors and
employees, plus tackle a short agenda. Pray for a great time
together with our whole team!
Thank you for praying for and praising with us. We
know you're there and we love you for what you do for this
ministry!
