IT'S TIME TO GET AWAY!

Twice a year, each May and October, women of all ages gather here at our Scrapbooking Getaway for a time of accomplishing their favorite craft, being spoiled with great food and friendships and espresso runs, enjoying optional activities like our zipline and walking the 3-mile block, and sweet spiritual challenges. We know that women need times away to regroup and replenish, so we try to meet their every need.

There is still room for you to register yourself, your wife, your daughter, your mother or your friend! It's truly a highlight of the year for many women. We'd love to see you here! The dates are May 20-22 (or come a day early on the 19th).

CAMP SIGN-UP TIME!

It's time! We always say that when the sun shines, the phone rings (or the online registrations come in). It looks like spring is finally here, which means that summer is literally just weeks away! We've got 7 weeks of great camps being planned down to every last detail. Watch for many innovative changes and lots of the same great traditions. We're taking time to consider the purpose of each camp and to have new evaluation tools in hand. Yes, this will be our best season of summer camps ever!

Are your kids signed up???? Click here or call 509-395-2900 for more information.

CAMP KICK-OFF DAY!

You are ALL invited to join us on Saturday, June 11th, from 1-6 pm for our 2nd Annual Camp Kick-Off Day! It's the first day of our camp season and a great family day! You'll get to play camp games as a family, meet the new summer staff, say howdy to alumni and board members and camp directors, partake of the world famous Camp Jonah BBQ, visit display tables about each camp, share memories and testimonies, buy the new camp t-shirts or sweatshirts, eat Otter Pops, give Grandma Duke a hug, register for camp, and give God glory for 15 years of camps and retreats!

Another treat is the generous opportunity for you to go white water rafting with Zoller's for only $25 each! (Sign up at www.zooraft.com.
Password is Jonah.)

GET REAL: RELATIONSHIP NOT RELIGION

Since we decided on this for our summer theme, it's like it jumps out at us everywhere--in our Bible reading, in church, in conversations, etc. We don't want to promote religion; we want to teach and model a relationship with Jesus Christ. Each camp will have this emphasis. It's all about getting real and knowing Jesus personally!

BUS BARN PROGRESS!

We're making a big huge mess! As you know, remodeling (like spring cleaning) gets worse before it gets better. The guys have been doing digging, demolition and lots of dirty work with thoughts of putting it all back together dancing in their heads. We're spending every available ounce of time and energy and money on this project. The finished product will first be a nicely remodeled camp store and hang-out room, then a wonderful new game room, then upstairs a huge new storage room and upgraded shop.

Thank you so much to those of you (including the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust) who, through your gifts, helped us purchase this property and have also given generously toward the remodel. Exciting! Stay tuned!

NEEDS LIST

1. We're looking for a donation of a travel trailer to be used for living quarters for Jeff & Beki. Then the trailer we're currently using can be used for the summer cook.
2. We need the usual camp stuff: duct tape, otter pops, craft paints, tubs of red licorice, frozen meats, gallons cans of fruit, vegetables, spaghetti/pizza sauce, pudding, etc.
3. Watch next month for a huge list of camp supplies that we'll be needing...

PRAYERMAIL

Here's an opportunity for those of you who are serious about praying for Camp Jonah. (Have we said thank you lately?) If you'd like to receive a simple, more frequent, prayer-focused email from us, please send a note to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it letting us know that you're interested!

PRAYER & PRAISE

PRAISE:

1. Camper registrations are coming in daily!
2. We're selecting our summer staff, and quite pleased with our applicants!
3. We love our Board Members! Last week's meeting was so inspiring. We have a group of members who are INVOLVED and GIFTED!
4. Thank you, Peggy and Gateway Presbyterian, for once again hosting three camps after church last Sunday to promote, encourage and scholarship kids to sign up for camp! You guys are amazing!
5. Jeff and I just enjoyed a quiet, do absolutely nothing day off! Now we're ready for the busy, crazy week ahead!

PRAYER REQUESTS:

1. Spring finances. Every April/May is just plain tough! Smaller groups mean decreased revenue; taxes, etc. mean increased expenses. And our winter heating bill is atrocious! God has provided for 15 years and we trust that He is not finished yet. 'Preciate your prayers!
2. Last-minute camp details. We are probably the craziest camp around. We do a totally different type of "theme" camp each week of the summer. Our camps are very hands-on and take an amazing amount of planning, preparation and personnel. Thanks for praying that things will go God's way.
3. Please pray for safety in our Bus Barn project and for wisdom with all the daily decisions to be made. We have also hit some unexpected expenses, so will need additional funding.
4. Time management! Time keeps slipping away from us. Pray that we'll be efficient, creative, and that we'll make good use of each hour God gives us.
5. Pray for our stamina and for our spiritual well-being. May our lives and our work bring glory to Him!
