Life here at Jonah is full of opportunities.

Opportunities to Reflect and Recommit

Jesus is the bravest man I know. Last week as I determined personally to immerse myself in thoughts and prayers and sermons and scripture during Holy Week, I was constantly hit by my humanness and sinfulness. As much as I hate the thought, I'm sure that I would've been just like Peter-who when things got tough, denied Christ. Would I have been in the crowd yelling, "Crucify Him"? It makes me cringe to even think about such things. If it weren't for Jesus willingly coming to die, Christmas would just be Christmas, and Easter would be all about bunnies and eggs. As of today, I choose to make every effort to make my life one that honors Christ and to appreciate the Father's deep, vast love for me.

Opportunities for Kids

The Peck kids are picking up pop cans and doing other odd jobs to earn their way to summer camp! If 7 & 9 year olds can do it, so can you! About once a week either Joanna, Laurel and/or Justin Peck can be seen on their bikes around our valley (and our building) gathering up pop cans, feeding neighbor cats, washing their grandma's calf hutches, or doing other odd jobs that will help them earn their way to camp. I dare say that if you let people know you're trying to earn your way to camp, you might be given some well-paying odd jobs to do. Give it a try and get signed up for camp at www.campjonah.com! Camp starts in just 11 weeks. What are you waiting for?!

Opportunities for Women

Opportunities to Serve

V.I.V. Club: Very Important Volunteers

Jonah Ministries is very, very dependent on those who give of their time and talent to our camp. Our volunteers help with mailings, all kinds of repair work, kitchen needs, building projects, raking in the spring and fall, plastic on the windows, computer help, office help, attorney needs, etc. We are now looking for groups of six to eight people each summer weekend to clean our entire building between each camp. You would need to love to
scrub and vacuum-and bring your own lunch, so that our entire staff can rest up before the next camp. The staffies only get about 24 hours off each week and so this ministry would be GREATLY appreciated by each of them! If you're interested, please contact Beki at 509-395-2900 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Opportunities to Celebrate

You are ALL invited to our First Annual Jonah Family Reunion. Please save the date of June 12th, 1 - 6 PM for a rousing celebration of fourteen years of great camps and retreats. This is an event planned for ALL of you campers, guest groups, board members, staffies, volunteers, campers and families, employees, and anyone. Come rejoice and celebrate with us as we share a time together that will include: family games, photo albums, worship, re-meeting and greeting past Jonah-ites and so much more. PLEASE COME JOIN US!

We celebrated about a foot of snow last weekend. We began singing, "I'm dreaming of a white Easter." The local Sunrise Service and Easter Egg hunts may have been a little chilly, but we are celebrating a great snow pack for the white water rafting season and hoping for no water shortages this year!
Want to come have a snowball fight? Just thought you'd want to know how little it takes to get us excited around here.

Opportunities to Give

Camp Jonah is known to be a place where good home cooking is enjoyed by young and old alike. Each time we eat indoors in the Dining Hall and wistfully think of the Igloo that was our outdoor eating facility, we get a little anxious to finish them both. We are now working on fundraising to complete both projects before June 12th of this year. If you'd like to chat with Jeff about these projects, call him at 509-395-2900.
If you'd like to give toward this project, do it online at www.campjonah.com.

Opportunities for Prayer and Praise

Praises:
1. Spring Break Bus Trip! Jeff drove a group of 30 college-aged, international students to Montana last week. They had a safe, fun, adventuresome, amazing trip together!
2. BIG thanks to the following volunteerswho have done extra special things for us recently: Marq - stove repair, Lloyd - electric knife, warmer repair, Jan - kitchen, Pat - eggs, Monte & Laura - dogsled rides for campers, Don Willner - attorney, Turbo - tech work, Richard - gift to G'ma, and so many more. We appreciate our volunteers!
3. Each spring we face the test of giving our worries to God over finances. Thank you for praying (and giving). We finished March much better (and smoother) than last year!
4. Each spring we also look back over winter activities and take time to thank the Lord for keeping our campers and guests safe!
5. When Jeff surveyed the massive damage to our Challenge Course after a windstorm last December, he was devastated. Yesterday he was proclaiming praise and gratefulness to our all-knowing God who provided the following: volunteer help each day Jeff worked at the course, the use of a hydraulic lift at no cost, perfect timing with the Synergo course builders, finances to cover all the repairs, replacing old elements with brand-new ones, etc.! We've
already used the new course and it's wonderful!

Prayer Requests:

1. We praise God for his provision for March. April is also always very tight financially. Please set our needs before the Provider in your prayer times.
2. We have a few final spots on our summer staff that need to be filled. Please pray for 2 college-age guys and 2 college girls and a part-time kitchen helper.
3. Please pray for 6-8 volunteers to do the cleaning each weekend this summer between camps so that our staffies can rest! (Is God calling your family, youth group, small group to do this?)
4. As always, pray for bulging attendance at our summer camps and for an overwhelming number of lives to be changed.
5. A few of us are battling a few health issues. Please pray for healing and good health.
6. We'd love for you to be praying for our board meeting on April 12th. Pray for wisdom, direction, and insight into God's will.
7. Pray that Jesus would inspire us, so that we can inspire others to turn to Jesus.
